IF YOU WORK FROM HOME, YOU CAN PROBABLY RELATE TO THIS.

Today I hit 90,000 fans on facebook. Every time I hit a new big milestone like that I think about those first few people that hit that like button on facebook. Looooong before I knew what I really wanted to do. My work was pretty terrible but I was just proud of learning how to finally shoot in manual, who cared how bad it looked, I was living the dream. I was just as proud of that than I am of hitting 90,000 fans today. I've hit a lot of big and small milestones along the way and every time I do I realize something.

It can be a lonely world to work for yourself sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE working for myself, at home, in silence and am probably much more of an introvert than anything so I really don't mind working by myself all the time. BUT during the times of reaching big goals and milestones working alone can also kind of suck.

It's awkward to high-five yourself, and the truth is that I do that a lot.

If you work from home you know what I'm talking about, don't deny it because I know we all do it. There's lots of self-high-fiving, solo office dances, a million trips to the kitchen to get more coffee, yelling at the computer when it didn't magically save what you were working on for the last hour when you work for yourself, and you probably talk to either your car, dog or child like they are your adult co-worker. That's all part of it. I often wish there was a way for us work from home, dream chasing, office dancing entrepreneurs could celebrate a little more. A way we could all come together and throw a big party for all the hard work we put into our business and work.

I know I can't be the only one who would love to high-five someone else for something awesome they got accomplished.

Here's what I was thinking:

OPTION 1. COMMUNITY ENTREPENUER OFFICE SPACE

Just imagine a HUGE space with it's very own coffee bar, designed more like an office space with lots of desk space, plugs for computers etc. So when we all get up in the morning to work we can all show up to 'work' at our shared office space. We can all work on our own thing, while working together. Have office parties to celebrate everyone's birthdays and even do secret Santa during the holidays. Oh and since most of us have kids we could totally add a section with kids toys so while we work our little ones can all run around and play together. We would be surrounded by people that are there to celebrate the little and big milestones. The people who are chasing their dreams and working on creating something they are passionate about.

OPTION 2. PLAN A BIG GET TOGETHER ONCE A YEAR FOR ANYONE WHO'S EVER HAD TO HIGH-FIVE THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY WORK FROM HOME ALONE.

Ok, this one might be more doable. How about once a year we organize a fun getaway for anyone who works from home to connect with other people that work from home. One week to sit back somewhere amazing, celebrate a years worth of hard work, and sip on some mojitos by the beach.

If you're reading this and thinking "YES!" then you're probably very much like me. You probably don't celebrate all that hard work you put in and should probably take the time to slow down sometimes to really celebrate. Order some champagne, realize that you're doing some pretty amazing stuff and totally deserve to throw some confetti around!

With that said, I hope you do take the time to celebrate. I don't care if it's a small milestone or a big one. Just make sure to stop and celebrate. Buy yourself some flowers, order some champagne, or treat yourself to something you love. You deserve it!
